Day 29

Called to Prayer

from the reading plan

1 Timothy 2:1-4, Matthew 6:5-15, Luke 18:1-8, Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:4-7, 1 John 5:14-15, Hebrews 4:14-16, Romans 8:26-27

Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.

Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your  own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.

Just as the Spirit intercedes on our behalf, the Church is to pray with confidence for our own needs, as well as the needs of other believers and the world.

Today, along with responding to the reading, share with the community in the comments how we can be praying for you.

I pray that I will have a better prayer life.I listen to podcast, read devotionals and He Reads Truth yet I often question my closeness the God. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will bring me closer Jesus in my daily walk and that I will grow in patience, humility and love fir others.

This month, by the grace of God, I will be one year sober from a 15 year addiction to pornography. Pray that the Lord will continue to give me a Godly sorrow for my past sins that continues to lead me in a life of repentance and continual obedience to His will.

I am encouraged by today’s reading, in Romans 8, that the Holy Spirit continuously intercedes for us even when we don’t know what to pray, or don’t pray at all. How blessed we are to have a father who gives us the grace we need for life and Godliness!

A soon to be first time father in a few months! All the prayers for protection, for joy, patience, etc. are much appreciated. Grateful for a community of men like this 🙂
