Day 30

A People in Progress

from the reading plan

James 4:1-8, James 4:11-12, Galatians 2:11-16, Revelation 2:1-5, Revelation 3:1-4, Revelation 3:14-20, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Daniel 9:3-10, Daniel 9:17-19, Psalm 51:1-6, Psalm 51:10-17

Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.

Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your  own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.

As a people still being transformed into the likeness of Christ, the Church has fallen short and will continue to. Until Christ’s return, the Church is called to both individual and corporate repentance, knowing that Christ is faithful to forgive, sustain, and perfect His people.

Discussion Question: How is repentance demonstrated in today’s reading?

Take time to reflect on your Scripture reading and today’s question. Share what you are learning with others in the community in the comments.

Repentance and renewal to the calling we first received, when the Holy Spirit called us to accept Jesus Christ, is all throughout these passages. Encouraging us to be ever vigilant and worthy of God’s calling us to Hus service. If only I could do so daily. We strive and continually fall short. Thank God for His forgiveness, mercy and love. I pray that I will walk closer with Jesus daily.
