Day 6

Grace Day

from the reading plan

2 Samuel 22:4

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I was saved from my enemies.

Dear Lord I thank and praise you for the opportunities you have given me. I ask that you would give me the strength and grace to love those you have surrounded me with and to help me find joy, purpose, and value in what I am doing. Lord help me to trust in you for all things and to be anxious about absolutely nothing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Resting and waiting are two important things God’s people seem bad at. I know I personally am terrible at resting and waiting on the Lord. My primary function is GO!!!! But God seems to want to tell His people “wait. Be still. Know that I am God.” This is the day before we celebrate the literal birth of God. He became human. If we can’t take a moment and enjoy that, we’ll miss the whole point of being alive. Lord help me rest and reflect. I’ve got so much on my mind and I feel like you probably put some of it there to share. Your will be done.

Even God took time to rest. I need to learn to rest and just “be”. He is good.
