Day 19

Salt and Light

from the reading plan

Matthew 5:13-16, Galatians 6:10, Matthew 10:7-8, Luke 10:25-37, Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 12:33-34, 1 Peter 3:13-17, 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.

Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your  own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.

As the continuation of Christ’s ministry on earth, the Church acts as salt and light in a decaying and dark world around us.

Discussion Question: What encouragement did you find in this week’s reading?

Take time to reflect on your Scripture reading and today’s question. Share what you are learning with others in the community in the comments.

Jesus fave us all the teaching and tools to be the salt and light to the world. All we have to di is walk daily, hand in hand with the Holy Spirit to live out those teachings. Oh how easy it sounds and how hard it is to do!

  2. Dave M says:

Galatians 6:10 says: “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” It is easy to remember this for those who are fellow believers, but it says to do this for all we can. That is an easy area to fall short in.
