Day 11

Empowered by the Holy Spirit

from the reading plan

Acts 1:4-8, Luke 24:49, Acts 2:1-21, Acts 2:32-41, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 1:17-19, Titus 3:4-7

Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.

Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your  own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.

The Holy Spirit fills and fuels the Church with God’s power to preach the gospel, serve others, repent from sin, and increasingly live in freedom.

Discussion Question: In light of today’s Scripture reading, how can you live out the truth that we are empowered by the Holy Spirit?

Galatians 5:25 tells us to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. It is a challenge for me to stay connected continuously with the Holy Spirit. As I get older I am getting better at it and it truly helps me be more like Christ in all that I do.

  2. Ryan K says:

The Holy Spirit empowers us not to do our will but to do the Father’s will. The Spirit is gracious enough to direct even the most minute details of our lives if we will only listen. We live out this truth by constantly listening and submitting to the will of the Father through the Holy Spirit. This is the “easy yoke” of Jesus, that we need not worry about what we should do to please God except to follow and do as He says, and we are enabled to live this new life through the Holy Spirit.

  3. Justin Mendel says:

I use felt the call of the holy spirit many times in my life. My life is blessed when i obey his voice. I have also seen the holy spirit with my eyes in a church worship service once. It moved over me like a fog, giving me the power to repent of my sins. He is so good and gentle.
