By He Reads Truth
Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.
Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.
Paul uses a metaphor of the human body to describe the relationship between Christ and the Church. As the head of the body, Christ unifies the individual parts that serve distinct purposes.
Discussion Question: In what ways have you seen the beauty of unique gifts and perspectives in your experience with the body of Christ?

I can’t help but think of the gift of music And how we benefit from other believers talents and abilities when we come together to worship the one who created the church body. May we never take it for granted. I have received so much encouragement and healing from corporate times of worship.

I think of the how the gifts of the various members work together to meet the needs of the church. Seeing people use their gifts for working with young children, middle school and high school students, discipline adults or worshiping. Collectively we are complete, but as individuals we are incomplete.

I feel like I’ve experienced the power of God through the diversity of gifts he gives, especially in the context of serving with teams. Even at a micro-scale, God brings together the varied skills of his created and this is a great reflection of how he works through the larger Church in all its diversity!

It’s such a beautiful thing to see all the different talents, passions, skills, abilities all coming together to serve the body of Christ. I’ve always loved the metaphor Paul gives in 1 Corinthians. Different parts – all made to work together. Such an awesome picture.
As someone in their 30’s who has had a back surgery, I have learned through rehab and PT just how much the body is designed to work together. It’s all connected, as should we be as members of the body of Christ 🙂

Have been tremendously blessed by the gift teaching expressed through others as well as the encouragement through the gift of evangelism by evangelist.
