Day 8

The Bride of Christ

from the reading plan

Ephesians 5:15-32, Revelation 19:6-9, Revelation 21:2-11, Revelation 22:17, Revelation 22:20

Since 2015, He Reads Truth has maintained a singular mission: to be men in the Word of God every day. Seven years later, our community includes “Hes” from across the globe, but our mission hasn’t changed.

Reading Scripture together is the centerpiece of what we do at He Reads Truth. As we spend time as a community reading This Is The Church, we encourage you to start by reading the daily Scripture on your  own. Then join us here to engage and encourage one another as we respond to what we’ve read. Each day for this series, we’ll include a brief summary of the reading along with a prompt for conversation.

Scripture illustrates the relationship between Christ and His Church through the imagery of a wedding. As the bridegroom, Christ loves, provides for, and sacrifices Himself for His bride, who responds to His love in preparation and submission.

Today, along with responding to the reading, share with the community in the comments why you wanted to engage with this reading plan. What are you hoping to learn more about?

Each day of the work week I start with a podcast, He Reads Truth and Oswald Chambers. It has helped me tremendously keep my life perspective in the right direction. It is so easy to focus on our jobs and efforts to support our families, losing focus on Who owns it all, provides our every need and keeps worry and anxiety away. It helps me be a better person, husband and father. That’s why I so much enjoy He Reads Truth.

    1. Joshua S says:

Amen brother. Now more than ever it is easy to take our focus off of He who has already provided us all that we need. May God bless and keep you.

Amen! what podcast do you listen to?

I use HeReadsTruth consistently as a driver for my own spiritual discipline. I enjoy the devotionals provided each day, but especially use the Legacy Books to be able to journal and record major themes and additional commentary notes. I have recently been finding the books “[BOOK OF THE BIBLE] For You” when HRT goes through a particular book, as well as the “Christ-Centered Exposition” series. Both of these are easy and quick to read and provide some additional context and perspective.

  3. Wade says:

HRT helps me grow in my faith. It’s engaging and very well laid out. The devotions that go with each dailly reading are great as well. Plus, my wife reads SRT too. This is a way we can do this together.

    1. Dave M says:

Same here. My bride started using SRT first and encouraged me to join her for the journey. It definitely helps my consistency in the Word.

I was also pulled away from the church system in 2015 .my wife and me live in a seaside town called Bridlington in the UK. We are still part of a community online where we all share the same vision of the bride getting prepared from rev 19.7 i wanted to find a daily reading each day instead of going on the church bible app . Glad i found you guys . God bless
