Day 26

In Praise of Virtue

from the reading plan

Proverbs 31:10-31

After completing your daily reading, come back to chat with fellow Bible readers about any reflections you have on the proverbs, introduction, or questions from today.

Proverbs 31 is an acrostic poem where each line begins with the next letter in the Hebrew alphabet. It is also the most comprehensive description of a godly woman in Scripture. But these qualities do not belong solely to women—this chapter gives us an ideal personification of virtue, a person “who fears the LORD will be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).

Reflection Questions:

How do the virtuous actions described in this chapter benefit both the wife of noble character and the people around her?

What are some present-day comparisons you could make between the woman in this passage and a godly person today?

Who are the women in your life who remind you of Proverbs 31, and how can you celebrate or honor them today?
