Today we are reading Hebrews 11 in its entirety before reading about the specific examples of faith on Days 4 through 31.
If you’ve heard or read this chapter of Scripture before, what ideas or preconceived notions do you have about the people who are listed here? If you’ve never read this part of the Bible, what would you expect the faith of those mentioned should look like?

I have read this passage many times before and one of the things that struck me this time around is not the names of those who are included, but of those who are left off the list. If Kind David, a man after God’s own heart whose name I share, only gets a passing mention, who are the ones that did not get a mention? How many people, today’s followers included, will serve God faithfully but will never be known outside their community or village? Their love and compassion may reach to the far ends of the Earth one day, but their names will be lost to history. This holds true for many of us I imagine. Our world tells us to seek fame and fortune, while the Scriptures tell us to seek significance and impact. Even thousands of years later, followers of the Way remain revolutionary.
