Scripture Reading: John 1:1-28, Isaiah 55:10-11, Hebrews 1:1-4
Have you ever had a front-row seat to something truly remarkable? Maybe you’ve stood on the rim of the Grand Canyon in the spring or been in the delivery room when a new baby belted out their first cry. Maybe you’ve watched the early morning sun pierce through a thick fog over a quiet lake or sat in the audience as a symphony orchestra played, each instrument in perfect tune. Or maybe just this week you found yourself in the right place at exactly the right time to see one human do something extraordinarily kind for another.
The Gospel of John gives us a front-row seat to a true story as life-changing as it is astounding: the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” John begins (John 1:1). And his account, twenty-one chapters long, goes on to teach the divinity of Christ more clearly than any other New Testament book.
In this five-week study, we’ll read how John explored Jesus’s relationship with God the Father. We’ll see how John’s Gospel points to Jesus’s fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, festivals, and institutions, how he presents Jesus as the new center of worship for God’s people, and how he details Jesus’s interactions with those who doubted and believed in His identity. And in the course of our reading, we, too, will have the opportunity to respond to Jesus’s invitation to come and see that He truly is the Son of God.
This reading plan will walk you through all twenty-one chapters over the course of five weeks, along with supplemental passages connecting your reading in John with the rest of Scripture.
John’s Gospel is an open door into the ministry and message of Jesus. Let’s read the true story of the Son of God together, and let’s be different because of it.

I was so glad to see that the new reading plan is the gospel of John. If you know someone seeking, invite them to read with us. I pray a reader of the Word will join today and begin a new, or renewed relationship with Jesus!
