Day 20

Grace Day

from the reading plan

Colossians 1:19-20

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

For God was pleased to have
all his fullness dwell in him,
and through him to reconcile
everything to himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross.
—Colossians 1:19–20

I feel like these verses have so much depth to them. Not only did God dwell (make his home) in Christ, but he was “pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him.” I also was curious about the definition of “reconcile”. According to Strong’s Greek dictionary, this version of reconcile means “to change from one condition to another so as to remove all enmity and leave no impediment to unity and peace.” What a wonder, that we can be in complete unity and peace with God through the work of Christ on the cross.
