By He Reads Truth
Though Scripture contains many written prayers, like those found in the book of Psalms, and many teachings on how to pray, like the parables and sermons in Jesus’s ministry, this reading plan focuses on the prayers offered to God in the narratives of Scripture. Each day we’ll read a narrative that includes a prayer from an individual or group. Their prayers vary in length, type, posture, purpose, and God’s response. The secondary passages explore how the rest of Scripture speaks to the themes demonstrated in the main reading.
While each account is different, every prayer recorded in Scripture teach
es us about the unchanging God who invites us to speak to and hear from Him. These prayers model for us what it can look like to be in conversation with God. As you read, notice the posture and emotions present each day.

I do not have any experience with communal prayer. But as I review this question I think that now is the time for such a prayer. Never in my life have I felt like our country is heading down a path of destruction of itself. Lord I pray that you will raise up a revival to You and a turning of our hearts closer to you daily. Open our eyes to the sin around us. Let us all be examples of righteousness, teaching the younger generations of you steadfast goodness and help in times of trouble. Instill in us all a fear that helps us to acknowledge Your holiness, Your power and Your forgiveness. Let us not go down the path of Isreal and Judah. Help make America the shining light for all nations, promoting the values you have set forth in Your good book for our benefit and Your glory!

We as American citizens need to confess our sins if we want to have Gods grace. Our country is headed towards more division. We need a great revival. Lord please help us to open our eyes, to our sin and ask for your forgiveness.

I share the same thoughts of those above here in the UK as we move further away from the truths of God’s word. It is such a challenge to remain faithful in prayer with so much need, it is encouraging to know that we are not standing alone.
