Day 6

Grace Day

from the Psalms for Prayer reading plan

Luke 11:2-4

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

He said to them, “Whenever you pray, say,

Father,
your name be honored as holy.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves also forgive everyone
in debt to us.
And do not bring us into temptation.”

—Luke 11:2-4

Give thanks for the grace that is ours because of Jesus Christ. What an eternal and immediate calling on my life!
To see and be able to speak clearly about Jesus Christ is really all I desire. When you think about your call or life’s work what could be more efficacious and desirous than the beautiful phrase, ‘give thanks for the grace…’ ? Because of Jesus Christ I have received all the status I’ll ever need to appeal to, all the righteousness I’ll ever need hide in, all the redemption I’ll ever need to remember. He is not only the Alpha & Omega, He is my beginning and end, from whom my life truly began and remains so steadfast every moment regardless of my acknowledgement or feelings. My status, righteousness and redemption are tied up in Jesus alone and my thankfulness is never ending.
