Day 28

Weekly Truth

from the Romans reading plan

Romans 10:9-10

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

As we read through Romans together, we are memorizing the steps in the Romans Road to salvation, a concise explanation of the gospel using verses from this epistle. The fourth step shows our response to the solution God provides: confess and believe.

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
—Romans 10:9-10

We all need to be reminded sometimes what or Who brought us to this place that we find ourselves in on our journey. Keeping this passage handy is not only a great way to remember, but also can move us into praise and worship to the One who got us this far. Remember, too, that He will continue to grow us as we make our way through this process called sanctification.

We have to be unashamed to say with our mouths what we claim to believe or maybe it’s not real belief.
