By He Reads Truth
Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.
Be gracious to me, God,
according to your faithful love;
according to your abundant compassion,
blot out my rebellion.
Completely wash away my guilt
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I am conscious of my rebellion,
and my sin is always before me.
—Psalm 51:1-3

Lord as you know I am not perfect. But I know your love is. Please forgive me of my sins and shortcomings. I know that I am bound to sin in this world but help me to never take my eyes off of you. Draw us closer to you and guide me in ways that I can be a better father, husband, son, and example for others. Let me not be ashamed but walk in faith with you in Jesus name, Amen.

It’s Your kindness, Lord, that leads us to repentance.

Knowing the depravity of my mind, and the sin of my hands, and the wretchedness of my past brings the grace in these words to flesh… and I become undone. I become trapped like an animal with the reality of my condition and in desperate need of a saviour.
And there’s a part of me that longs to reach out and take what Jesus offers, and yet a few that prevents me from reaching out my hands.
Lord, help me to receive your steadfast love, your abundant mercy. Help me to be reconciled to you, for left to me, I am unable.

Todayand everyday, I am thankful for the goodness, grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that without that grace and mercy I would be lost. I would probably be dead. However, He continues to breathe life into me that I might use the gifts he gave me to change this world one day at a time. I am thankful for the moments that I spend in God’s presence. I am simply thankful. There’s an old hymn that says, “I’m blessed; better than blessed. Praise the Lord! I may not have houses and wealth, I may not have all my strength and health but I’m blessed.” I am blessed because I have God’s grace and mercy. I must remember to show that to everyone I encounter.
