Weekly Truth

from the James reading plan

James 1:2-3

Memorizing Scripture is a way to carry God’s Word with you wherever you go, keeping God-breathed instruction, reproof, and truth in your heart and mind each day.

As we study James, we will memorize the book’s key verses together, James 1:2-4. This week, we’ll begin with the first part of the passage, which teaches us the paradoxical truth of rejoicing in suffering.

Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
– James 1:2-3

Write this passage down, keep it in your wallet, post it on your mirror or at your desk — anywhere you will see it often. Save the image below as a lock screen on your phone so you can read these words throughout the day.

So much going through my head I feel I can’t think straight, but at the same time I hear God saying “this is where you grow.” Thankful He knows my frame and that I’m just dust. He called me to everything that fills my plate today. Lord, help me to do the one thing I know you want me to do today: praise you with all I got.

I read this verse at my grandmothers funeral and I hope to touched a lot of people. The fact that God TESTS us not TEMPS us is a huge help. Testing gives us a way out
