Day 6

Grace Day

from the John reading plan

Ezekiel 36:25-27

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My statutes and carefully observe My ordinances.
– Ezekiel 36:25-27

  1. Justin says:

Believer, God is moving you to follow his decrees and laws. He is sanctifying you through his Spirit which he put within you.

Holy Spirit make us sensitive to your leading and make us more like the Son.

  2. Phil says:

Lord, please guide my every step, give me challenges that will allow for me to grow, and please press on into the darkness before me so I can follow wherever it is you desire for me to go. Help me to trust in you; to hear you when you speak, to feel you when you move, and to act when I know you’re calling. Please help me to always see people through your eyes and to show grace, even when grace is not due; because We are all made in your image. Please strengthen me for what is ahead, and calm the anxiety that comes for the things I am uncertain of. Please bless these men as they take this journey alongside me, as we dive deeper into your word each day and wrestle with what ever it is you are wanting us to see. Please allow this time of fellowship with you to be pleasing; we give you all the Glory! I thank you for ALL the things you do for my family and I; for the small things, and big. And in Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. Justin Rigdon says:

I need this day. I thought of taking a day to refocus yesterday during my reflection time, so I plan to use it well.

  4. Brad Haynes says:

Calvinist or not, this passage is pretty clear who is in charge of regeneration. John 3 and Ezekiel 36 paint a beautiful picture of God alone bringing about salvation.

  5. Ryan D says:

26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
    – A new, beating, warm, inviting heart, a new spirit. Removed my old, stone, cold, calloused heart. So beautiful. As a nurse, I see the effects of an old, weak, diseased heart in the body. To have again a new heart beating strong and maintaining life is such a beautiful sight.

27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
    – With the Holy Spirit living in my new heart, I will find renewed joy in His commandments and hatred for the sin and brokenness of my past.

  6. Jonathan Caraveo says:

The Lord has told me, you are made new. “Do not look back on your past mistakes or heart aches, but rather give that to me” The Lord has given me a spirit that seeks to follow him above ALL ELSE. I will believe that and try to live my life accordingly.

  7. Joshua says:

This passage sent shivers down my spine as it was what I was praying for last night. It’s so easy to cling onto old impurities and let them hold us back. After reading this, I’m reminded to walk in the presence of God with a renewed heart and spirit.

  8. Nate widow says:

I love the fact that I am giving time to rest from all other things and be in tune with Jesus. It’s like taking a refreshing bath after a long day.

  9. Clifton Arnold says:

This was an unexpected delight. Thankful for the promise in these verses and that God is a promise keeper!
