Day 8

Second Sunday of Advent

Acts 10:43

Memorizing Scripture is one way to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ, our perfect Prophet. This week, we will memorize this verse of assurance that Jesus is the One the prophets spoke of:

All the prophets testify about Him that through His name everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sins.
–Acts 10:43

Write this verse down in a place where you’ll see it often, or save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read it throughout the day. As you memorize this verse, give thanks to God for the gift of His Son, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

  1. Andrew says:

Thank you Father for sending you Son.
For loving me while I was still a sinner.
    For providing a way.
    For your forgiveness.
    For paying my debt.
    I believe in you.

  2. Joe B says:

How amazing right… Whoever believes in Him will be forgiven of sins. It goes deeper than that though, doesn’t it? If you believe then you will act, if you act then you will show, and if you show then you will lead. Christ gave His life for all of us. He came into this world to bear our transgressions. Ultimate sacrifice is what He was and the greatest gift ever given for us. Believe and be forgiven!

  3. Scott Schulman says:

Everyone who believes in Christ will receive forgiveness of sins. This is such a standard truth that I’ve known my whole life that I forget its true value. I am so thankful that my sins are forgiven.

  4. Lukas Fortunato says:

Jesus came with many goals and missions to accomplish. There were prophecies that needed fulfillment. There was much He needed to teach. There were many miracles He needed to perform. He needed to raise up disciples to carry on His work. Yet ultimately, He was here to sacrifice Himself. To give His body. To build a bridge for all of us to cross. His mission always ended in one destination and that was Golgotha.
